Virtual Freestyle
The world’s first digital extreme sports championship, allowing athletes from across the globe to compete virtually by submitting filmed freestyle performances - judged and showcased online.
We are pleased to announce that the Virtual Freestyle Championships are back for 2026!
Registration - 15th July to 14th August
Filming Window - 15th August to 6th September
Screening - Saturday 19th September
Live Results Show - Saturday 19th September
How Virtual Freestyle Works
1. Submit your registration
The registration window opens on 15th July and you have until 14th August to submit your entry via a form which will be available here. We incentivise you to get your entry in early!
2. Get your routine filmed
Get your 2-minute routine (4 mins for Freeride) and also a Best Trick, filmed on a good-quality camera. Also, film a short introduction about yourself, max 30s.
3. Submit your footage
Send us your footage as 3 separate video clips, as raw footage off the camera, no edits allowed.
4. We judge your routines
The judging panel get to work and scores your routines across 5 categories.
5. We compile the production
Runway01 gets to work and pulls the whole event together, including sponsor contributions.
6. Watch the event on social media and attend the presentation
The event is screened as if live on Saturday 19th September, followed by the live results presentation where we interview the winners. Prizes and trophies are sent out within 2 weeks of the event.
